Story Intro

Introducing an award-winning Robusta Amazing Cup, an anerobic natural robusta that captured first place in the Robusta Category at the 2024 Vietnam Amazing Cup. This  coffee is cultivated by Phan Em, a second-generation robusta farmer, on his family-run farm with the support of his parents and sister.

 

I got the chance to chat with Phan Em why processing specialty grade aka fine robusta is important.  He believes specialty coffee brings high prices to farmers like himself, but more importantly it's more sustainable than commerical coffee.  Farmers will pay attention to quality so the farm will be better cared for with 100% herbicides have been eliminated that is beneficial to the health of the farmer and the environment.  They are gradually prioritizing the use of organic fertilizers to reduce chemical fertilizers.
